Biography

Bio

Shawn Bowers is an Arizona native and grew up outside of Sedona, Arizona in the small town of Cottonwood. His culinary career began at the age of 16 as an apprentice to a Hungarian Chef at a three star restaurant. He later moved to Scottsdale and attended the Culinary Arts Program at Scottsdale Community College and put his teachings to work at the Arizona Biltmore. After graduating in the top of his class and receiving a Silver Medal in the State VICA competition, he went on to a Sous Chef position at an exclusive fishing lodge in Alaska. Upon returning to Arizona he spent 5 years at The Buttes Resort in Tempe and took with him a number of awards, one of which being the youngest to ever hold the position of Chef de Cuisine at the Top of The Rock Restaurant. The next few years were spent as the Executive Chef of the Arizona Country Club and the Phoenix East/Mesa Hilton before opening his own catering company with a fellow culinary graduate. Shawn now splits his time as an instructor at his alma mater and is a chef for a private family. His passion for the culinary arts is alive in all he does and plans to do in the future.
