Cindy Kiefer

Dr. Cynthia Kiefer has served on the English Faculty at Scottsdale Community College for seven years. Prior to teaching for SCC, Dr. Kiefer taught secondary English Language Arts and engaged in a business career in the library technology and book industries. Dr. Kiefer aspires to develop her first-year composition students’ critical writing, reading, information, and digital literacies. College-level writing, research, and critical reading experiences help her students develop academic, social, and economic problem-solving capabilities and the confidence necessary to meet their career and personal potentials. Because of this, Dr. Kiefer is especially passionate about working with her students to enhance and develop their academic, personal, and workplace writing and critical thinking skills. Dr. Kiefer's teaching philosophy and methods are based on current research in the field and her belief that all students can "learn to learn."
