Biography

Bio

Walter Olsen was a Phoenix police officer for nearly 32 years. He has held the position of patrol officer, motor officer, and detective. He has testified in municipal and superior court as an expert in fatal crash investigations and reconstruction.  He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Arizona University and an Associate’s Degree in Administration of Justice from Scottsdale Community College. He continued his studies by taking classes from the Institute of Police Technology and Management at North Florida University and Northwestern University (Traffic Institute). Since 2002, Olsen has taught classes at the college level in areas that include Criminal Investigations, The Police Function, Current Issues in Criminal Justice, Ethics in AJS, and Introduction to Criminal Justice. He also instructed at the AZPOST Academy and other locations on a variety of police-related subjects.
