Biography
Writer and visual artist Karl Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in Cinema Production & Photography from Ithaca College, and a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from UCLA.
His scripts have won the Jack Nicholson Prize for Excellence in Screenwriting, the Student Showcase Award at UCLA, and the Comedy, Sci-Fi and Burnt Orange Awards at the Austin Film Festival. He has several scripts in active development.
Karl's media career has included senior management-level roles in content analysis, film and television research, copy production and metadata categorization for such companies as Cableview, Showtime and Netflix, where he currently works in the Editorial Creative division. His past corporate clients in the entertainment industry have included MGM, In Demand, Rovi, TV Guide, Red Bull Media and others.
For Scottsdale Community College, Karl teaches the courses Story Theory, Career Pathways in the Media, Feature Screenwriting: First Draft and Feature Screenwriting: The Rewrite.
