Biography
I have been teaching mathematics at SCC since 2005. Previously, I taught in Texas at U.T. El Paso and, in the early 90’s, at Phoenix College. I earned a B.A. in mathematics from The University of California at Santa Cruz and continued my education at Arizona State University earning an M.A. in mathematics.
To me, thinking mathematically is playtime for the mind. I enjoy helping my students advance their understanding of mathematics. Other interests of mine include a summer beach-fix in California with family, and camping year round in Arizona. My husband, Jeff, and I have two lovely children, Kenosha and Graeme, both in their mid 20’s.
Students can expect a typical class session to include both lecture and group activities. Homework assignments for my courses are delivered online through MOER (a free learning management system). Textbooks and/or workbooks for all of my courses can be obtained for free or at a low cost.
