Biography
Introduction:
¡Hola!
I grew up in Ecuador and returned to the U.S. for University studies. I have taught Spanish for over 30 years in Massachusetts and Arizona.
I have taught graduate courses in Ecuador and have also taken students to Costa Rica through SCC. Throughout my career, I have taught Translation and Interpretation, Spanish for Medical Professionals, Spanish for Law Enforcement, and Spanish Literature. More recently, my colleague and I developed an Open Educational Resource to reduce the costs associated with higher education for our students... now, your Spanish textbooks are free!
In my youth, I trekked through the Amazon jungle and hiked the Andes. Thank goodness I have a car now!
Instead of going out into the wilderness, I bring the wildlife to my yard! At home, I have two tortugas, Alfie and Thomas, who, along with all of the friendly visitors (birds and bugs), enjoy all of the native plants that I tend to in the yard.
I love Latin music and of course the food! I love receiving recommendations for musical artists and new restaurants to try.
I hope to see you in class!
