Biography
I have been part of the Artichoke family since 2017. I began my career here at SCC as an athletic trainer working with student athletes on various varsity sports teams. I turned my attention to teaching in 2018 and haven't looked back. I started off my teaching career at GCU teaching BIO 201 and BIO 202 Human Anatomy and Physiology labs to aspiring nursing and health care field students. In 2019 I returned to SCC as an adjunct instructor teaching BIO 156 labs and worked my way into the A&P courses here. I spent several years teaching full time at ASU in the biology department, but got the call to return home to SCC for the Fall 2026 semester beginning my career as Residential Faculty.
My passion for A&P began in high school with an introduction to sports medicine class, but it really became part of my identify in grad school. I began my first semester of grad school in an intensive human anatomy lab and loved every minute of it. I knew then and there this was the career for me, I just didn't see the path at the time. After completion of my Masters of Athletic Training degree from TTUHSC, I began working in the field as an athletic trainer at a DIII college in Wisconsin. My experience working as an athletic trainer gave me the ability to educate my student athletes on what I was most passionate about, and during those clinical years it became evident that I needed to teach!
