Biography
I grew up in Ohio, where I attended Miami University and double-majored in Psychology and Sociology. After a rewarding year working to help pregnant and parenting teens return to, and graduate from high school, I moved to Arizona to attend graduate school. I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Arizona State University in 1999 and then worked as a High School Counselor in the Gilbert district for 15 years, at Mesquite and Campo Verde High Schools. During this time I was also adjunct faculty, teaching Psychology and Counseling classes, in the Maricopa Community College system. In 2014, I left my high school position for a position teaching Academic Success classes at Arizona State University. In 2016, I landed my dream job – here with YOU as a residential faculty member in Counseling at Scottsdale Community College. At every point in my career, I have felt extremely grateful to help other people identify, develop and realize their potential and purpose, while working hard to do the same myself!
