Biography

Bio

Joel Tutnick has been a science educator for over twenty years. He has taught science to students ranging from elementary to university levels and currently teaches in the Scottsdale public school district. He holds B.S. in Biology and Master of Education degrees from Arizona State University. Mr. Tutnick was selected to teach at Arizona State University’s Center for Academic Precocity as well as teaching general biology and anatomy and physiology laboratory courses for ASU’s Life Science department. He recently completed a semester of instructing Human Anatomy and Physiology at Phoenix College.

As a research cell biologist, Mr. Tutnick published work dealing with the role of the Cytoskeleton in cellular development in the prestigious American Society for Cell Biology. He began his career in 1992 working in the private sector as a Microbiologist for National Health Laboratories and shortly thereafter received his first position as a science educator. In 2005 Mr. Tutnick was honored with the Scottsdale Charros Educator of the Year award. Mr. Tutnick is a current member of both the Arizona and National Science Teacher Associations.
