Biography

Bio

Writer and visual artist Karl Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in Cinema Production & Photography from Ithaca College and a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from UCLA.

His scripts have won the Jack Nicholson Prize for Excellence in Screenwriting, the Student Showcase Award at UCLA, and the Comedy, Sci-Fi, and Burnt Orange Awards at the Austin Film Festival. He has several comedy scripts in active development.

Karl's media career has included senior management-level roles in content analysis, film and television research, copy production, metadata categorization, and taxonomy creation for such companies as Showtime, Netflix, and Meta, where he currently works on social media projects in the Content Ecosystem department. His past corporate clients in the entertainment industry have included MGM, In Demand, Rovi, TV Guide, Red Bull Media, and many others.

For Scottsdale Community College, Karl teaches the courses Story Theory, First Draft, Rewrite, and Introduction to Cinema.
