Biography

Bio

I grew up in Yuma, Arizona and graduated from Yuma High School (Yea Criminals!) and then went on to my local community college and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics. During that time I worked in my first love, radio and television on the technical side of things. During my time at ASU earning my bachelors degree from the College of Engineering I continued as a radio technician for various radio broadcast operations. Upon graduation in 1976 I began working as Chief Engineer for radio operations around the southwest including San Diego and Phoenix. I was originally hired at SCC to teach in the Electronic/Microprocessor Technology program in August of 1983 while I continued work on my masters degree. I earned a Master of Technology from Arizona State University (Aug. 1986)  and later, in 1993-1994, I took a 1 year sabbatical and studied over 30 credit hours of mathematics, after which I returned to SCC as a member of the Mathematics Department. I continued to teach mathematics and engineering science until I retired in summer 2020. After a one year hiatus from SCC as a full-time faculty, I have returned to SCC as an adjunct faculty in mathematics. I am also doing some part time tutoring in our Math Tutoring Center. Come in and see me there on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
