Biography
Dr. Wyngaard attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and earned a bachelors degree in Accounting. Upon graduation, he accepted a job in the Controllership Development Program at AO Smith Corporation in Little Rock, AR, holding positions in both cost and general accounting. During that time, he earned an MBA from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. His next position was corporate controller for a roofing manufacturer for 13 years where he supervised accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. He left industry for a full-time accounting and taxation instructor position at the University of Arkansas-PTC. In 2017, he finished a PhD in Advanced Accounting from Northcentral University in San Diego. His dissertation is entitled Small Business Owners’ Perceptions of Fraud Risk and Low-cost Anti-fraud Controls. During the tax season, he participates in VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) in which volunteers prepare tax returns for low-income taxpayers. He moved to Arizona in 2017 to join the accounting faculty at the Maricopa County Community College District.
